Understanding the user
The goal was to design an intuitive, minimalistic app with feature-rich functionality to assist users without access to a laptop or desktop. The project began with qualitative research to understand users and their challenges. The design process included secondary and primary research, along with user interviews. Problem statements, hypothesis statements, goal statements, and affinity diagrams were developed.

Meeting the users
"Fear of Making Mistakes"
Akhil lives in India with his wife and son. He has been in the hospitality business for over 25 years. He is afraid of making mistakes while filling out forms, as entering incorrect information could lead to a lengthy process of recovering his money from a stranger through the bank.
"Wanting Every Feature at His Fingertips"
Mathew, an IT professional in India, finds banking apps difficult to navigate. He prefers websites due to cluttered app designs that hinder task completion. With digitalization, he expects apps to be more accessible and feature-rich.
"No Personal Connection with the Banker"
Haniya, a married mother, feels a lack of personal contact with her banker. She struggles to reach the bank for queries and finds it difficult to handle online scams and frauds.
"More Customizable Options with a Consistent User Experience & AI Support"
Sofia, a married resident of Las Vegas, manages monthly bills and savings but finds the app inconvenient due to limited features. She wants AI-powered tools for budgeting, bill-splitting, and savings management.
Competitive Analysis
Many banks in India lack features that are available in other countries, such as opening a new account or depositing a cheque. These features were incorporated into the project. Additionally, money-related apps were analyzed to offer users a comprehensive solution in one app. Research also included UPI, budgeting, and investment apps.
The major issues identified in competitor apps include:
Cluttered information with poor spacing
Lack of user-friendliness and unclear hierarchy
Limited additional features
YOUR BANK App is designed as a one-stop solution, offering feature-rich functionality without clutter, ensuring easy accessibility for users of all ages.

Paper Wireframe
Low Fidelity Wireflow
Wireflow for adding an existing bank account to the app.
Wireflow for downloading transaction statements through the app.
Usability Study and Iterations
After creating the mockup, a usability study was conducted, and feedback was gathered, leading to several changes. Users wanted the downloaded bank statement to be shared and viewed directly, rather than being accessed through files. The message was integrated into the profile, replacing the separate tab, and a "Forgot Password" button was added to the "Add Existing Account" section.
